6’x3’6” 19th/early 20th Century Persian Baluch/Balouch Area Rug. Medium pile, good condition. Some areas of distressing. Hand woven orange, navy, brown dyed wool. Its origin lies between Southeastern Iran, Southwestern Afghanistan, and Western Pakistan in an area known as Baluchistan. While this area is known for its distinct rug making, these rugs were typically not made in one centralized studio, but rather in the individual looms of the families in the area.
